On Thursday 25th November, we hosted a Club breakfast with founder of charity, Alike, Brad Gudger, at M Restaurant Victoria. After years of working with groups and charities, and being inspired by the peer support he experienced, Brad wanted to find a way to use the technology around us to combat loneliness, specifically for people with cancer. Alike is a first of its kind organisation, combining not-for-profit passion for change with the ingenuity and innovation of a tech start-up. It creates an opportunity to build friendships and be part of a community that doesn’t just support, but understands.
Brad was awarded The Diana Award in 2019 for his services to young people and the cancer community. He is also a Young Leader for the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust and a One Young World Ambassador and is proud to fulfil the UN Sustainable Development goals in his work as founder of Alike.
Brad’s talk was incredibly inspiring- we heard about his own courageous battles with cancer and the journey he has been on to create the Alike community. It was utterly fantastic to be in the same room as such a trailblazing individual. We look forward to supporting and watching Alike grow.
