The second Thought Leadership breakfast of the 2017 series took place at the eclectic private member’s club on Portman Square, Home House on Wednesday 22nd March. We were honored to welcome our host Debbie Wosskow OBE who spoke on the topic of Female Founders.
Hailing from a family of female entrepreneurs, Debbie spoke to our members about her entrepreneurial journey that started at the age of 25 when she launched her first company Mantra, a marketing consultancy, which she later sold to Loewy Group in 2009 and her journey to where she is now.
We were pleased to see an exceptional turn-out of female business leaders and enjoyed a round of thought provoking questions and discussion after Debbie had finished speaking. We are looking forward to what April has in store.
Debbie is recognised as one of the most prominent serial entrepreneurs in the UK, known for successfully launching and scaling businesses in the areas of digital disruption, the sharing economy and female empowerment. Debbie holds a number of high-profile leadership positions across associated sectors and is regularly interviewed on those subjects in the media, on TV and on radio. She is the founder and CEO at Love Home Swap, the sharing economy website that she launched in 2011. The company is well known as one of the fastest growing digital technology companies in London. Debbie is the co-founder and chairperson of AllBright, a unique UK funding platform designed to provide the support and finance needed for female-led businesses to launch and scale. Debbie, along with her co-founder Anna Jones (former CEO at Hearst), aims to close the gender-based funding gap that currently prevents many women from launching and succeeding with their business ideas. A long-standing investor, Debbie has personally backed a number of female-led businesses including ShareStyle, a digital marketplace for style services, and TAP, a smart technology company that enables Event Producers and Partners to deliver a more tailored event experience. Debbie was the Founding Chair of Sharing Economy UK (SEUK) and sits on the Mayor of London’s Business Advisory Board. In 2015, Debbie was named as one of the Evening Standard’s 1000 most influential people in London.
