On Wednesday 3rd October, we hosted our October edition of the Thought Leadership Breakfast series at M Victoria.
We were honoured to welcome our guest speaker Georgia Arnold, who is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of the MTV Staying Alive Foundation and the Senior Vice President of Social Responsibility, Viacom International Media Networks.
Georgia shared her inspirational story about how the foundation was born and insights into the exceptional and relentless ongoing work they are doing to continually fund HIV prevention and treatment. As Georgia says, it would be a failure and tragedy of our times if this utterly preventable disease continues to impact future generations.
Please follow this link to the LGBT project in Kenya Georgia mentioned, where it is illegal to be gay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZEYvPk70Fc . The MAAYGO (Men Against AIDS Youth Group) work in Kisumu, Kenya to directly reach, empower and connect LGBT youth about HIV prevention and sexual and reproductive health.
We would also like to extend our thanks to our sponsors, firstly M Victoria and secondly Global Accounting Network, who specialise in helping a diverse range of interesting businesses secure the right finance leadership and build high performing finance teams and lastly Newcomen Partners, who provide a new approach to Non-Executive hiring within the Start-Up and development stage market, now also including the SME space.
